Crochet for Election Day

Well, today is Election Day!  So I whipped up this little flag in honor of today:

Don't forget to vote!

If you like it, here's the pattern:

Materials:
*Crochet Hook: Size I (5.50 mm) or the proper size to obtain the gauge
*Worsted Weight Yarn in Red, White, and Blue (used in the pattern is:)
  • Vanna's Choice Cranberry
  • Vanna's Choice White
  • Vanna's Choice Colonial Blue
*Yarn Needle

Gauge: 14sts of sc /3" and 15 rows of sc/3"

Pattern:
Ch 21 with the red yarn.
1) sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch to the end (20 sts) fasten off. Do not turn.

Follow the chart below (each square is a single crochet st):
The first row (the bottom/red row) is already complete, so you'll be on the second row (the white row).

The entire piece is done with the right side facing you, fastening off at the end of each row.

Therefore, lefties follow the chart left to right for each row, and righties follow the chart right to left for each row.

Don't forget to ch 1 when you start the the row.

After you're done with the chart, weave in all of the ends.

Your piece should now look like:

Now, embroider the star in the blue square to complete the flag.
